Where do we ski? Plan the day together
Friends live in different cities and some take the train. Start a plan for Saturday or Sunday, send the link to your group, and Skiboard ranks the ski areas that work for everyone: snow, weather, day pass, crowds and each person’s own trip.
How it works
- Pick the day and add your city and whether you go by train or by car.
- Send the link to your group chat. Each friend adds their own city and transport in a few seconds.
- The ranking updates for the whole group, with everyone’s travel time. Say which areas you’re in for, and go where most of you are.
Questions
How is the best area for a group chosen?
Each person gets the app’s own ranking from their city by their transport. An area must be within four hours of everyone; its group score is the average of everyone’s score with the lowest counted twice, so nobody is stuck with a long trip to a poor day. Before the season, when no area has measured snow, the list is in order of the longest trip in the group, areas that are open that day first.
Do my friends need an account or an app?
No. The link opens in any browser. Nobody signs up, and there is no app to install.
What does a plan store, and for how long?
The day, and for each person the first name they type, their city, train or car and the areas they are in for. No email, no address and no location. Anyone with the link can see the plan; only your own browser can change your entry. Plans are deleted three days after their ski day.
