Freeride in Switzerland is a north-face and storm-track problem. Verbier and Andermatt sit in the wetter west-east conveyor; Engelberg and Laax add glacier height. Skiboard’s steep and freeride scores are catalog proxies from vertical and elevation, not a guide assessment. Off-piste travel needs the SLF bulletin, a transceiver, and a plan that is not a screenshot.

Where is the best powder in Switzerland?
It moves with the storm. West and north-west flow often favours Verbier and the western Alps; south flow can load Ticino and the southern Valais; the Gotthard is a local factory. Skiboard will rank on live snow once the weather adapter is on. Until then, treat powder claims as climate, not tomorrow’s forecast.
